"It's okay." Wolf said, glad that Alex had ignored Hikari. It helped. He wouldnt have ignored her if he liked her all that much.

Jes felt awkward at the tension. Because he just didn't do well in these situations. He was the comic relief always.

Hikari went very quiet and fiddled with the book in her hand. No one had answered her so she felt much like she would have if it was just her, Drake and her dad.

"Alex, my dad had a question." Drake said, making it worse. But also getting it out there and making Alex aware.

"After food, I will ask." Morgan said and shrugged as he lifted his beer bottle to his lips and drained half of it in one mouthful.

Alex just smiled up at his boyfriend. But when neither Wolf nor Morgan were looking, he mouthed "sorry" to Hikari. He hated being put in such awkward situations. It was hard on the shy fiend. But he didn't want to leave her feeling bad. Nor did he want to upset his boyfriend.

"Oh," he said quietly. "Okay..." He did not usually talk with Morgan. Not because he was against the man personally but just because the guy was so hostile towards him.

Aya did not like the tension any more than Jes did. She frowned at the way everyone had just ignored the girl. She got why Alex had since Wolf was being super obvious about being all over him. But the rest? No.

"You know Sugar, you can't really talk and eat at the same time," Strife said to Hikari. He didn't like that her father had ignored her. Guy just wasn't a good dad and it pissed him right off even if he tried not to show it. "Why don't you continue reading to us all after you've gotten some good food in your belly, hm?"

"He's promised to be nice, don't worry." Wolf said, but mostly because he'd punch his face in if he didn't.

"We just want to do our jobs," Drake assured them all. Because that was all he wanted. His dad wanted revenge but he wasn't getting that any time soon.

Hikari blushed, because Strife was gorgeous and he was a guy and he was talking to her. "Okay," she said quietly. She understood how Alex felt being so shy.

"I don't mind helping," Alex said. "That's why I'm here." Well, part of why he was there. He wasn't exactly going to open up to the rest of it. Not to Morgan of all people. He knew just what Morgan would do, or at least try to do, if he had any inkling of who Alex was and what he might know about their situation.

Strife winked at Hikari. He liked that he'd made her blush. She might be a little embarrassed but that was better than being ignored, he thought. And no, he would not go there. She was too young. But it was nice to make her feel that way, for her.

"I know, it's really awesome. It helps a lot." Drake said, he always tried to be friendly. He had no issue with anyone yet.

Hikari giggled and lifted her glass up to drink from it, she was purposefully not making eye contact with Strife.

Morgan cleared his throat, making both of his children fall quiet and he gave Strife a look. "You realise she's 15." He said in a way that was a warning.

"I am well aware of how old she is," Strife said, not in the least but bothered by Morgan. "I won't apologize for making her smile. Gods know you sure as hell don't."

Alex winced. Strife was massively protective of children. That wasn't just limited to fiends or bullies either. Poor parents were in there as well. Alex was also the only one aware of why he was that way, other than just his background of being a cop.

Morgan's grip tightened on his gun as his gaze didn't move from Strife's. He locked eyes with him, letting him know he wasn't afraid of him. "Kid, you don't know my story and I don't know yours. Let's not be complete assholes and judge without knowledge. Otherwise one of us is going to find themselves at the wrong end of a barrel."

Wolf wondered how Strife would take that, he would step in if he had too. But he didn't want to have too.

Strife was disciplined and level headed. So he took that just fine. "Sounds fair to me," he said. He didn't reach for his own weapon. He could have. It could have come to one of those things, only it wouldn't have because the others would have intervened at some point. But still.

"Well, I'm glad for that. Maggie gets real tetchy when we start leaving bullet holes in her club." Wolf said with a laugh. But he was glad that Strife had listened.

"Sorry," Hikari mouthed at Strife. But she made sure her dad couldn't see.

"Foods here." Jes said as the waitress brought their stuff over.

Strife just shrugged at Hikari like it was no big thing. Also when Morgan wasn't looking. He didn't say anything more, just instead occupied himself with his food.

Alex breathed a little easier then. Morgan made him nervous as it was. He really didn't want to witness violence.

Aya wasn't upset in the least. She'd been watching with interest. She didn't like Morgan over Strife.

Hikari felt bad. But she couldn't do anything. It didn't inspire her appetite either. Mostly she pushed her food around the plate.

Morgan ate well for once. He usually didn't get the time but as he had it now, he demolished it hungrily.

Drake too ate well. He didn't say much though for his dad was just so socially retarded.

Everyone knew that about Morgan though. Hunters tended not to be all that socially fluent. They had a hard time interacting with their fellows and alike. Which just meant that the meal was eaten in mostly silence.

Which was boring and awkward. But soon the food was cleared away and more drinks were provided. "So," Morgan said, because he wanted to get this out of the way. "Do you know where the shapeshifter nest is? And do you know the best way for us to deal with them?"

Drake was surprised that his dad had asked so nicely, it was just wasn't something he did.

Alex was also surprised that Morgan had been so polite and nice about. He took out his journal and a pen and began to draw a map. "They're in an abandoned subway tunnel. There's a hidden entrance in the forest that you can use to get inside. They don't know about it." He then wrote down an address and a very old symbol on a separate sheet of paper. "You'll want to set up silver bombs throughout the nest. Go at Dusk tomorrow. You can get them from the man that lives here," he said and handed over the address with the symbol on it. "His name is Dave. Show him the symbol. He'll give you the bombs for free, no questions asked."

"Thank you," Morgan said a little tightly. It was hard for him to accept help from fiends. "So what's the plan?"

"Strife and I will accompany you and Drake. Jes will babysit." Wolf said and Jes didn't seem all that disappointed. "better to have backup. We will go get this stuff and set up together."

"Okay," Morgan said. He didn't argue it.
