"I'm just saying!" Bryna said. "Not everyone gets a chance to find a way. It happens. We wouldn't have tragic love stories if it didn't. Look at the story if the Master of Dragons and the Princess of Fairies. They didn't make it that first time around. It happens."

"And what of them?" Alex asked. "It doesn't matter, Wolf. It just doesn't. Fiend or no, I will not make you a target for an enemy you can't defeat. Do not ask that of me. I won't do it even if it breaks your heart," Alex said. He choked on tears he didn't want to shed and he ran away.

[Cedahlia]

"They totally deserve it though." Nel said and pulled Bryna through the shadows to follow them. Because shockingly...

Wolf followed. "I'm sorry." He said, for a lot of things. "But I'm not sorry for loving you, okay? Nor will I ever be. I'm not worried about your enemies, we can deal with it. The girls can be fiends with me to. It's fine. Maybe I can't beat heatran, but I know people who can. We can do it together."

[Cedahlia]

"They do..." Bryna said. She was glad that Wolf was following. He was being stubborn about it. But she didn't think that Alex was going to give in. Not today. He looked so upset. "Maybe we don't get to have one though. Us dark ones." She frowned. It didn't seem to go that way for them. The light elements were lucky. It was easy for them. But not for the dark.

"You don't know that," Alex said. "You don't know any of that. And I won't be the reason you fall. I just won't." He didn't think he was going to be followed. He was so upset. But he couldn't exactly leave. He needed the protection.

[Cedahlia]

"If they can't, we can't, I guess." Nel said, because Wolf was the nicest dark guy she'd ever met.

"Okay. I'm not giving in yet. But okay." Wolf said, because he didn't want Alex to be upset, he went over and pulled Alex against him for a hug. "Don't fight it. You need it. Just let me hug you right now."

[Cedahlia]

"That's depressing," Bryna said. "I like the idea that there might be hope for us." After everything that had happened, she wasn't nearly as popular in school as due had been. Not with boys are girls. She was fine with that, really, but sometimes it got hard when she saw happy couples at the school. "We gotta find a way to make this happen for them."

Alex wanted the hug. He also didn't want it because it made things so complicated. But he gave in. He let Wolf hug him and he closed his eyes. He didn't cry. He never cried anymore even if his insides hurt so terribly he couldn't breathe easily.

[Cedahlia]

"We just need to take down heatran, then they'll get together." Nel said, because that's what Alex had said. "so yeah. Let's do that. Piece of cake right?"

Wolf was glad that Alex let him hug him. Really glad. "You know that I'm never really going to give up though right? My life is always dangerous. Being with you isn't going to change that. So I think the pros out weigh the cons. But what do I know. I'm just a stupid human."

[Cedahlia]

"Yeah, no. That's really not what we're doing. And it's not what we need to do either," Bryna said. "Just because he said it but it's not actually true. We just need to help him realize that how he feels for Wolf is more important than his fears. Which can totally be done. We can play with his subconscious in a less obvious way than you played with Wolf today with the movie, since that was pretty direct. But there's a ton of stuff out there about people falling in love even though they tried not to. Books, movies, tv shows, music. Heck, we could even commission the right songs from our friends. It might take a while but if it works in the end then..." She shrugged.

"I never called you stupid," Alex said unhappily. "Sometimes you are though..." Which might not be very nice but he was trying so hard not to have a moment here. He couldn't deal with it. With any of it. He was too frightened, all the time, and he couldn't add Wolf to that right now. He just couldn't. When he was free, some of that fear wouldn't be as strong, but while he was bound it was just never going to be.

[Cedahlia]

"Like the I can't help falling in love with you song by that one old guy who died on a toilet?" Nel said, again taking the romance out of it because she was just terrible. The song was good, though, right?

"So are you though. You are doing that human thing, letting your fears control you. Just saying." Wolf shrugged, because he was like that. If Alex wanted to be direct, he could too.

[Cedahlia]

"No, I was thinking something more modern and romantic," Bryna said. "Something a little more haunting and soul touching. I'll just, I'll work on it with my fae. If I can't come up with something then I'll ask the band people for help." At least she'd feel useful and productive, working on something that would benefit the two of them.

"That's not just a human thing," Alex said. "Fear exists in all creatures, fiend or otherwise." He didn't feel controlled by his fears but he knew they ruled his emotions. Then again, his fears were much more terrifying than most people's.

[Cedahlia]

"It was just an example. I didn't mean let's literally blast that at them," Nel said, but she was getting bored because they were just hugging and sassing each other.

"If you say so, it must be true." Wolf said, like he doubted. A little bit. "So if I wanted to be a fiend, who would I hit up to grant that wish?"

[Cedahlia]

Bryna agreed with Nel's thoughts. "They're being boring now...Let's go work on our mischief." She could get to work on that song and they could find books to leave around. Alex loved books. He'd read anything once. She could also find some tv shows to leave on while doing homework, so he had to listen to them in the background.

"Arceus," Alex answered. "There are also those who can curse you to the form of a fiend but it might not be permanent. Either way, it is not an easy request to grant."

[Cedahlia]

"Okay, let's do it. We will win this." Nel said, she wanted to give back to Wolf. And what a better way to do it?

"All right, I'll hit up the big dad in the sky later. I totally have his number on speed dial. Do you want a cookie?" Wolf said, because cookies made everything better. "Nel made them at school. They're all cat shaped...£

[Cedahlia]

"He probably has to be unbound before he'll give in," Bryna said. "But we can work on him until then. That'll make it easier once he is free. If he doesn't just leave..." She hoped he wouldn't. That would be pretty awful for Wolf. But she wouldn't be surprised if he did. The Life Guardians didn't really live in their world proper. They just visited.

Alex shook his head. "I want a nap," he said, being honest. He didn't have a thing for cats or sweets. Not at the moment. And he was pretty off candy after that creepy movie that'd just had him watch.

[Cedahlia]

"Can we unbind him?" Nel said, "not now obviously. Because he will just fuck off. Heartless." She suddenly had to wonder why they were bothering.

"Okay. Do that then." Wolf said, but he didn't let go of Alex just yet. "Do you plan on leaving as soon as you're unbound? Is that part of the problem? You don't want to stay here with me?"

[Cedahlia]

"We don't know that he's going to disappear," Bryna said. "I mean, he could. Gods are like that. They don't just usually stick around mortals. Especially if they're the ones that made them. It might be even safer for him not to. But...we don't have to make the decision easy on him, you know? Uxie is supposed to be one of the more active pixies when it comes to mortals. So maybe he won't."

"I haven't decided what I should do," Alex said. "I do not enjoy being a bound mortal but that does not mean that I do not enjoy your company or the friends that I have made. And I have been helping people. Which is also nice even if it's more active than I usually like to be."

[Cedahlia]

"Eh." Nel said, she tried so hard to be happy all the time and just bounce. But sometimes it was a struggle. And the idea of Alex leaving them, really hurt her feelings. She didn't like it. He was just another dude, who was going to hurt her even if not physically.

"I'd like it if you stayed. It would hurt if you left after everything." Wolf wasn't going to sugarcoat it by any means.

[Cedahlia]

It wouldn't bother Bryna as much as the others if Alex left once he had been set free. She knew what it felt like to be held captive. She'd wanted to run away with her mother into the great big world and just not deal with anything. But that hadn't been possible. Alex though, he could really do that if he wanted. And she wouldn't blame him at all. But maybe he won't want to. "Come on, I can only handle so much sadness in one day." She pulled Nel away from the two in the kitchen and into one of their rooms.

"You protecting me was never supposed to be permanent," Alex reminded Wolf. "I would not be pleasant for me to leave you behind. But it might be necessary...Feelings have complicated things. If I stay but we are not together...I do not think you would enjoy that very much."

[Cedahlia]

Nel just allowed herself to be dragged. "Sorry. I don't mean to be meh. I just...you know. Reasons. I'm fed up of being let down."

Wolf just sighed. Alex had pretty much admitted he had feelings for him. Right now, he didn't really want to deal with his negativity either. He just didn't. "I don't want to talk any more." he said then, using Alex's words on him.

[Cedahlia]

"Yeah, you and me both," Bryna said. "And maybe almost ever other teenage girl out there right now." She jumped onto the bed and got comfortable. "I don't think he'll leave if we get them together. But I think he will if we don't. Eventually. So it's just more motivation to hook those two up."

Alex was only so take back by having his words repeated. "Okay," he said, accepting them easily. He left the kitchen knowing he wouldn't be followed this time and just went to his room, shutting the door and climbing into bed to sleep.

[Cedahlia]

"Yeah, well...out of all of those, I'm sure it's not that many that have actual reason to be feeling that way." Nel was being thoughtful then. She sat down next to Bryna. "Part of me is a little paranoid now. Alex hurts Wolf a lot, he knows he's doing it. He doesn't apologise for it. He doesn't seem to care. Maybe Wolf would be better off without him.But I'm a pessimist. My opinion shouldn't count, probably."

Wolf rubbed his face. But then he opened the cupboard, pulled a bottle of whiskey from it. He wrote a note on the fridge door telling the guys to order take out for dinner. Money was on the side, he'd eat later and to just leave him be as he was gonna be 'sleeping'.

[Cedahlia]

"No, I see where you're coming from," Bryna said. "But then, we've both lived in a state of fear and captivity. I know I hurt people when I was scared and frustrated with my situation. I don't know how I would have handled it if I'd actually fallen in love with someone that would have been in danger from my "father" during that whole thing too. I might have been mean to them as well just to keep them away from me." She sighed. "Maybe it's the whole...being cruel to be kind, thing? Uxie is supposed to be rational, not emotional. So he could likely justify that or see it that way."

[Cedahlia]

"Justify? You mean excuse himself." Nel said, she didn't like people excusing themselves for hurting someone either. Excuses were just excuses. "Again, I'm not the right person to talk too about it.c

[Cedahlia]

"Then let's talk about something else, hm?" Bryna said, happy to change the subject. One of her companions appeared and brought her a notebook to start righting romantic schemes in. She didn't flinch this time though it had startled her. Bryna was taking personal lessons with Braxton to overcome her fear of her own element. She was rather ashamed she had to but it was currently the only way she felt safe.

[Cedahlia]

"Okay. Have you decided who you will take to the dance yet?" Nel asked as she pulled one of her many kitties onto the bed. Many dark creatures had come here, some drawn to Wolf, others drawn to her. The cats she hoarded for herself.

[Cedahlia]

"Oh the dance. No," Bryna replied with an exaggerated sigh. "Everyone has been watching me to see who I'll ask top, especially now with how everything has changed and I forsake my little followers." She was not enjoying pars of her freedom. The school part especially. Embracing who she really was hard when everyone only ever saw the fake you and expected that. "But maybe I'll take Chase. Or I'll just take a girl and say screw boys." If anyone would even have her. "What about you?"
