"Do you think that would even happen?" Jake asked. Not the monster thing but the whole thing with her being able to visit with normal reason. "Because I don't know and I...I miss you. All the time. And I..." He got shy then. "I like you."

Beckie dropped the basket of laundry at the sound of her brother's voice. "Oh my god! You're home?! What happened? I don't even care. No, I do." She was so excited. She gave him a sudden and tight hug.

Hikari blushed so red that she thought her face was going to explode. "I can't promise for definite but I'll promise to try because I... Uh... Like you too." She said awkwardly but she heard Beckie's exclamation of joy and realised that Zack was home. Her heart sank because that meant it was time to go. "Your brothers here."

" I'll tell you with Jake," Zack said so he didn't have to repeat himself. He squished his sister so tightly and stepped out of the laundry room.

Bobby had followed while Drake had not. He liked this part. This part made it all worth it and eventually Drake would understand that too. He went into the kitchen though giving the siblings a second to themselves. "You'll both be happy to know that Zack is free and all charges have been dropped. And the ditto is dead."

"Yay." Hikari said with very little enthusiasm and Bobby raised an eyebrow.

Jake was shocked. He looked towards his sister and Zack as they came into the kitchen. "Really?" he asked Bobby. "That's awesome." He didn't run and hug Zack though because he was in that stage where showing affection was not cool.

Nuala got out of the car and looked at Drake. "You don't want to go in and share the joy having a job well done?" she asked.

"Yup. You got your brother back." Bobby said and grinned because he didn't go hug him.

But Zack didn't give him a choice he went over to his little brother, with his sister in his arms and hugged them both. "Don't fight it." He said and made Bobby laugh.

"Get your stuff together kid, we have to leave and figure out things with your girlie day with Nuala." Bobby said, but he knew that Drake would be on that in his eagerness to leave.

"Okay. "Hikari said and vanished to get her clothes together and her other bits she'd brought over. Laptop. Etc.

"No, that's for them." Drake said with a smile. "I'm happy knowing I played a part in giving them that. Do you want a day with Hikari as of tomorrow? Does it matter if it's in the next town over or something? I mean this place hardly has any of the things you need for that girlie day."

Jake laughed. "I give in. Fine," he said though he was super happy. He didn't mind the hug too much. He gave in and gave his brother a squish. "I'm so glad you're free now. And that thing is dead." That was such a relief. He might be able to sleep properly.

Nuala didn't comment on Drake not taking part. "I was planning on stealing her. The capital has much better shops. But I do need some time to get your reward together so tomorrow it is."

"Good." zack said happily. He was so glad that his brother didn't resist. "You have Bobby, Hikari and Drake to thank for that. I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't called her. So thank you as well."

"dont thank us, honestly. It's our pleasure. This is our job and damn..." Bobby said as he looked at them all so happy. "My job is amazing."

"Just tell us where to meet you and we will. I mean, unless you want to travel with her but I'd rather we all didn't linger. I don't think the police likes us very much and the motel owner has left me many angry voicemail..." Drake said, so he didn't want Hikari to be hanging round here for longer than needed.

"I wouldn't want it," Jake admitted. "But thanks," he said to Bobby.

Beckie was nearly crying far too much to actually manage a proper thank you. She tried.

Jake just stared at her. "But you got all that, yeah? Yeah." Except then he noticed that Hikari was gone. And she was leaving. "Hey, I'm going to go say goodbye to Hikari..."

"I can take her now if you want," Nuala said. "And don't worry about all the stuff here. I'll smooth it over. Not like anyone can protest against a royal pardon."

Bobby laughed, "good. Don't have it." He said as he listened to Beckie burble some sort of thank you. He went over and took her hand and gave it a squeeze. "You are so welcome."

Hikari had gotten dressed in her own clothes again, her leather jacket hung over a chair and she was shoving her other things into a bag. She was trying to not cry.

" You going to be heading out in the next hour?" Drake asked looking at his watch for the time. "If you just want to keep her till you're done tomorrow I can pick her up then."

Beckie laughed. "Thank you," she said for real then. "I'm so thankful. If there's anything we can do for you all for helping us...Just name it."

"Hey," Jake said as he found Hikari. "Darn, you look about as sad as I feel. I hate this part," he admitted. Saying goodbye sucked. "You know I'm going to be messaging you before you're even halfway down the road, right?"

"I can," Nuala said. "I don't keep schedule. But I'll keep your sister and return her to you when we're finish. You'll just have to tell me where you are in Kanto. I can pretty much go anywhere."

"This is enough," Bobby said and meant it. He didn't like to ask families for things.

"not even fuel money?" Zack asked because that seemed fair, really. But Bobby shook his head.

Hikari laughed then, Jake was so sweet. "I don't think I'll have net in the car, but I can try with my phone." She offered. "And I just wish we could stay in places sometimes."

"Okay, we will keep driving but stay in kanto and you can just let us know when you're ready to give her back." Drake said with a smile. "Please don't keep her, she's very special."

[Cedahlia]

"If you're sure..." Beckie felt like they should do something but she didn't have a lot to give. "Still. Thank you so much."

"I wish you could too," Jake said. "I guess I'll see you...when I see you..." He was so unhappy about her leaving. But he was so happy about having his brother back. But then...He suddenly kissed her.

"I won't keep your sister," Nuala said. "Though I might be tempted. So realize I will be stealing her often." She gave Drake a kiss then. "Thanks for you help."

"once was enough," Bobby said with a laugh, as he looked over where Hikari was. Or he thought she was. "I'm just glad we could do anything at all."

Hikari didn't expect that and at first she just soft of stood there frozen. But only for half a second before she kissed him back, the blush returning to her face.

"It's no biggie," Drake said with a shrug. Brushing off her thanks as he would if he was inside. "Don't steal her too often, geez. Learn to share princess."

Jake blushed a little too. The kiss wasn't massively passionate. They were pretty young. "Sorry. I just didn't think I'd get another chance..." He knew they were waiting for her.

Nuala rolled her eyes at Drake. He was definitely less charming and appealing when he wasn't trying to get into her pants. "I'll think about it," she said and started inside. "Bye, Drake."

"It's okay," Hikari said quietly with a big smile. It wasn't passionate at all. It was just sheer adorable and that was perfect to her. "I don't mind."

Drake wasn't sure why she was rolling her eyes. He didn't like to be massively big headed about his job. "Okay. Bye Nuala." He said because he tell he'd been misjudged somewhere and he honestly didn't care any more.
