"No?" Jiro asked with a little smile. "You don't mind that I'm weird?" He hadn't thought of the other complications that would come from being in a relationship with a dragon. Like the immortality thing. That was a big one. But he was young. He'd get there eventually.

"I like that you're weird. I'm weird too. In a different way." Tan said, because he was. He wasn't just a normal person, so that Jiro was a weirdo was even better for him, really.

Jiro smiled just a little bit more then. "Okay. Good," he said. "We're okay now?" He didn't know how to tell. His dragon was just being a dragon on his shoulder. And that was fine. He liked having him as a dragon. He was more portable that way.

"Yeah. We're good." Tan said and nuzzled on Jiro's cheek softly. "Well, for that anyway. Your anatomy comment hasn't been forgotten, brat." He said and licked at Jiro's cheek.

Jiro actually laughed then. "I could tell you liked it," he said with a bratty smirk and rubbed his cheek with the bottom of his palm. He was not sorry. He'd thought Tan's reaction had been hilarious.

"I almost died, brat." Tan argued, it was hilarious. But too much. "Be careful, I might punish you for it. In a silly way. Like not letting you finish when we're intimate."

"That's not fair," Jiro said, suddenly pouting. "You wouldn't have died. Dragons don't die from just choking. That would be lame." He didn't like the idea of not being allowed to finish at all.

"How could I have? It was so rude and unexpected. You're so shy, and then you're like 'my favourite subject is your twin's body, I study it avidly.' Which I appreciate but damn," Tan said with a laugh, he turned back into a boy and hugged on Jiro tightly.

Jiro liked the hug. "Well he asked and it's the truth," he replied with a grin on his face as he hugged his boyfriend back. "You are my favorite subject."

Jiro felt good hearing that. But his mind was never quiet and a thought popped into his head. "Is this forbidden, Tan? Is that why we can't tell anyone? But it can't be if your mom and dad are together because they're a human and a dragon."

"Past lives?" Jiro asked. "I don't know. I guess so. Is that a thing?" He wasn't sure why this was coming up but he was going to go along with it. Tan seemed to be struggling. He wondered why.

"If I said I knew you in a different life time would you think I'm crazy?" Tan asked, because that seemed like the easiest way of saying it. "Also, that isn't why I pursued you either. Before you think that, I like you for the person you are now. Not who you might have been."

"I wouldn't think it crazy. Not with the sort of things that I see," Jiro said. He was very curious now as he looked at Tan. He wanted to know what else he was going to say.

Tan took a deep breath. "You were closer to my parents than me. That's why I can't tell them yet." He explained but he wouldn't say more than that. Nope.

"Oh..." Jiro thought about that. "But we will tell them eventually?" He asked. He didn't want to deceive anyone forever. He wanted to ask more but he could tell that Tan wasn't going to say more about it. Oh well. He'd likely learn eventually.

"Yes, we will. Maybe if you ever remember, or when we can stand together properly as a strong unit so they can't argue back." Tan said, he didn't want to hide forever. He just didn't want to cause a big scene.

"Well we have time to worry about that," Jiro said. They'd only just gotten together. They might end up breaking up. There were no guarantees. So it would be better to wait until they were sure as a couple to tell.

"I don't feel like a dirty secret," Jiro said. "An explosive secret maybe but not a dirty one." He imagined it wouldn't go down well as a calm and rational conversation when they found out. But oh well. He wasn't going to try to see how that works go down.
