Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"It is cheating. You can only talk now if you have something nice to say, got it?" Wolf said and just tugged her small body against his side to cuddle her instead.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
Hex frowned. She rarely had something nice to say. That wasn't fair. She realized what he was doing though. "Who exactly do you think is going to hear me out here if I scream for help?" Paranoid. She supposed she'd earned that though.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"I'm not taking any chances. I had to bail Jes out of jail because you put him there. He's not even a little bit that way inclined and it took me, Strife and Alex a very long time to make him okay again." Wolf said, because hex only saw her escape. She didn't see the rest. "We had to move, change his name on paper. Delete him from the system with the old name. You destroyed his life."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"I have no idea who you're talking about," Hex replied bluntly. She didn't sound the least bit sorry for destroying a life either with her accusation. He'd probably deserved it.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"He's a Hunter. Who was only chasing you for the same reason I came here. To hear your side of the story. But you saw Hunter and went on attack mode." Wolf said, because she could be a shit about it. "One day, you'll be so loved and happy from all directions that you'll remember those people who's lives your ruined and it will bother you."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"It won't bother me at all," Hex said. She didn't believe him about being loved enough that she'd turn fully good. That wasn't going to happen.
"I think you're wrong there," Pande said to Wolf. Hex wasn't the kind to regret. Especially not those sort of things.

Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"Not fully. But she will feel about it. Maybe not like I would, or others would. But she will." Wolf said, he found her rebellion pretty adorable. "Alex would like you all. So would Jes and Strife. Even you," he said to Hex then. "I'm never going to force you to stay with me, nor would I put you in a capture sphere. That's not how I roll, see? I want my companions to stay with me out of love. But if you guys chose to stay with me, you'd have a family. People who love you, regardless of your past. Because that's what hunting has taught us, over the years. Family don't end with blood."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"We are a family," Hex said. "We always have been. That's not something we need to be taught by hunters." She rolled her eyes at him.
"She's right. We are a family," Pande said. "We have been since before your birth."
"She's right. We are a family," Pande said. "We have been since before your birth."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"Hm, you misunderstand. It's okay we will get there." Wolf said as he fussed them some more. "I don't mean to belittle your family here. You guys are a great unit. I'm sorry."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"You think your family is better?" Wisp asked Wolf curiously. "Or do you think that without humans we cannot be a complete family?"
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"Neither of those." Wolf said shaking his head. "I'm the kind of person that thinks the bigger the better with family. That's all. The more people, the more love. We all need it, even if we pretend otherwise."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"Haha," the girl who was a cat said. "Are you going to let me go so I can sleep now?"
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"If you like, but no running off." Wolf suggested, he didn't command it. He didn't think he needed too. He let her go. He didn't want to have to force her to do everything. "You can stay and be fussed more, if you like." He said to bedlam.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"I do not sleep much. But they require rest," Bedlam said. Not that he needed to be fussed. But he wouldn't sleep. He watched over them while they slept. The hunter hadn't fully earned their trust yet.
Hex detached herself from him the moment she was allowed to. She scampered away and to the other side of the fire.
Wisp ran off after her. They usually slept curled up with Pande but tonight Hex wanted to be far away from the hunter.

Re: The Wolf and the Cat
Wolf didn't comment. She'd come around eventually. "I need a little sleep. But we can stick together." He offered to bedlam, even if he didn't trust him, if he slept on his chest, he'd know if Wolf moved or anything.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
Pande lowered the fire for them to sleep.
Bedlam was the last to fall asleep and the first to rise in the morning. He woke Pande and ran off to scout the perimeter.
The girls remained fast asleep. They wouldn't rise until the sun had.

Re: The Wolf and the Cat
Wolf woke when the boys did. He was that type of person. He stretched as he sat up, his bones creaking and popping against sleeping on the ground. "Morning."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"Good morning, Wolf," Pande said, standing up and stretching. He got up and got started on getting a little fire going to make breakfast with. They'd eaten the good yesterday but Bedlam would likely hunt while doing his rounds.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"Can I help with anything? Did you sleep well?" Wolf asked as he rubbed his face to help himself wake up properly.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"As well as I can out here," Pande said. "And no, you do not need to help. We have our little jobs down. They'll sleep until the sun rises and by then Bedlam will have returned with the hunt for the morning and I'll have it cooked and ready."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"That's really neat." Wolf said ass he looked over at the girls asleep. "They're pretty cute aren't they?" He smiled.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"They are," Pande agreed. "But that is the way of little girls. They're cute so long as they're asleep and not talking." Because when they were awake was when the drama started. And that wasn't as cute. Not so much for Wisp though, who was very mellow compared to Hex.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
Wolf chuckled, that was so much truth. It was ridiculous. "So, how do you think I can win over the cuties? I guess my winning personality and epic charm just isn't enough."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"Not for her it isn't," Pande said. "Cats are always harder to get affection from. But consistency helps, as with any abused animal. You'll really have to work at it. Don't make her any promises you're not sure that you can keep. And gifts never hurt. She's a teenaged girl cat. She likes fish that won't make her feel fat and shiny accessories."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"I just have to be careful with that. I'd get her a shiny collar, but she'd assume that meant I owned her." Wolf said, because he didn't want to do that to her. He really did. "I won't make her promises I can't keep. I just want her to know it's not so bad."
